Cookies & Data
Last updated: April 2026
1. Overview
This Cookie and Tracking Technologies Policy explains how Friendr LLC (“Friendr,” “we,” “us”) uses cookies and similar tracking technologies in connection with the friendr. mobile App and website. This policy supplements our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated by reference. By using the App, you consent to the use of tracking technologies described in this policy, to the extent required by applicable law.
2. Tracking Technologies We Use
Because friendr. is a mobile app rather than a traditional website, we use technologies analogous to browser cookies, including:
Session tokens: cryptographically signed tokens that authenticate your identity and keep you securely logged in to your account.
AsyncStorage / local storage: lightweight key-value storage on your device used to remember your in-app preferences and settings (such as theme selection).
Device identifiers: your device’s push notification token, used to deliver notifications you have opted in to receive.
Analytics SDKs: third-party software development kits used to measure App performance, feature usage, and crash diagnostics.
3. Strictly Necessary Technologies
Certain tracking technologies are essential for the App to function and cannot be disabled without preventing you from using the App. These include: authentication tokens that verify your identity with each API request; session management tokens that maintain your logged-in state; and locally stored settings that allow the App to function as you have configured it. Your consent is not required for strictly necessary technologies, as they are required to provide the service you have requested.
4. Performance & Analytics
We use analytics tools to measure how users interact with App features, identify crashes and technical errors, and monitor App performance. This data is used solely to diagnose issues and improve the quality of the App. Analytics data is aggregated or anonymized wherever possible. We do not use analytics data for advertising purposes, and we do not share analytics data with advertising networks.
5. Third-Party Technologies
Supabase: our backend infrastructure provider. Supabase uses session tokens to authenticate API requests. Supabase’s privacy policy governs their data handling.
Expo / React Native: our mobile development platform, which may collect anonymized diagnostic data to support App stability and performance.
Apple / Google (optional sign-in): if you sign in using Apple or Google, those services apply their own tracking technologies and privacy practices pursuant to their respective privacy policies, over which we have no control.
We do not use third-party advertising networks, retargeting pixels, or cross-site tracking tools. We do not allow third-party advertisers to place tracking technologies in the App.
6. Your Choices and Opt-Out Rights
Advertising Identifier (iOS): you can reset your Advertising Identifier (IDFA) or enable “Limit Ad Tracking” at any time by going to Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking on your iOS device.
Push notifications: you can disable push notifications for friendr. at any time by going to Settings > Notifications > Friendr on your device.
Account deletion: deleting your account removes all stored preferences, session tokens, and device identifiers associated with your account from our servers within 30 days.
Analytics opt-out: if an in-app analytics opt-out becomes available, you will find it in the App’s Settings menu.
7. Global Privacy Control (GPC)
We recognize and honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals transmitted by your browser or device as a valid, legally recognized request to opt out of the sale and sharing of your personal information, consistent with the requirements of the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA) and the Colorado Privacy Act (CPA). If we detect a GPC signal from your browser or device, we will treat it as a request to opt out of the sale and sharing of your personal information for that session and, to the extent technically feasible, on an ongoing basis.
8. Do Not Track (DNT)
Some browsers and devices transmit “Do Not Track” (DNT) signals. There is currently no universally accepted standard for how mobile apps should respond to DNT signals, and we do not alter our general tracking practices in response to DNT. However, we do honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals as described in Section 7, which serves a similar privacy-protective function under applicable state law.
9. Data Retention
Session tokens are cleared automatically when you log out of the App or when your session expires. Locally stored preferences are cleared when you uninstall the App or delete your account. Analytics data is retained in aggregated or anonymized form for up to 24 months, after which it is deleted or further anonymized so that it can no longer be linked to any individual user.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie and Tracking Technologies Policy from time to time to reflect changes in technology, law, or our practices. We will notify you of material changes by updating the “Last updated” date at the top of this page and, where required, by providing additional in-App notice. Your continued use of the App after changes are effective constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
